Clipping path

Clipping path is the Photoshop method — worn with the Pen Tool — to take away the background from an image. Clipping path is usually use when the subject of the image has sharp, smooth edges. This allows the clipping path to stay straight.

A poorly drawn clipping path can result in images that don’t look real or natural. We zoom into imagery sometimes as much as 200% so we can get as close to the edge as possible.

It’s significant to take your illustration when create a clipping path, because it can tarnish your brand and cause you to lose sales. Today’s eCommerce landscape is feisty, and you want your product photos to stand out — in a good way.

Masking

Image masking is also a way to eliminate the environment from an image. Image masking is done with a multiplicity of tools in Photoshop, such as Background Eraser Tool, Magic Eraser Tool and color separation technique. Masking usually use for hairy or woolen object of any image. Though we cant use clipping path for any hair or woolen type object to cutout , that why we need masking method to do it so easily

Remove the background from an image with image masking is helpful when the subject of your image has lots of fine lines and small details. The image masking method you employ depends on a small number of factors, and in some cases, you’ll need to use more than one. For example, if the image you’re editing is very complex, with shadows or multiple background colors, you’ll probably require using a mixture of image masking criteria

Generally, the dissimilarity between clipping path and image masking is the system you use to eliminate the surroundings from an image. More composite images require image masking. It is strictly possible to eliminate the background from compound images with clipping path, but the result isn’t always as attractive as it would’ve been with image masking. As you can tell, the image edited with clipping path look unnatural

Movie Effect On a Portrait

We are sharing how to apply a comic effect on a image using Photoshop smart filters

The before after comparison will increase your interest level of this tutorial-

Now here we starting our tutorial for comic effect on a image-

Step 1: Open image and select quick selection tool

Step 2: Select entire person with quick selection tool and if need subtract with ALT+click to select unwanted area

Step 3: When selection done go to refine edge filer from filter option

Step 4: mask the hair area if need and must select new layer before it done

Step 5: Rename the layer as filter gallery

Step 6: Go to filter > filter gallery

Step 7: After opening filter gallery box select texture – Grain , make intensity-40 and contrast- 50

Step 8: Select filter gallery layer and duplicate as diffuse

Step 9: Go to filter > stylize > Diffuse

Step 10: Make sure to select anisotropic check to soften the edge

Step 11: Again duplicate layer and name it sharpen

Step 12: Move to filter > sharpen > Sharpen more

Step 13: Hide bottom layer though we need to change background

Step 14: Create new adjustment layer as solid color and apply a nice color for the background

Step 15: Drag the solid color layer just under the filter gallery layer

Step 16: Now again select the top layer and duplicate as halftone

Step 17: right click on the layer and select convert to smart object

Step 18: Now we can see a smart object icon layer is visible on the top layer panel

Step 19: Go to Filter > sharpen > sharpen edges

Step 20: Now if you satisfied with the finishing save JPEG format of the image

How To Create Natural Shadow In Simple 10 Steps on any object

What we understands from  Natural Shadow 

When an object transform from its own background to new one then we have to create a new shadow which called natural shadow effect.Natural shadow is created by the object original shadow.Sometimes ,object need to give a dramatic looks such as mirror effect then the designer need to remove the background as per clients/buyers recommendation. To create more attractive looking, & giving natural view we use natural shadow. Eventually, this effect can give the product a premium look.

But remember , if object doesn't have any original shadow we cant apply natural shadow on that image.

After understanding the natural shadow term why not we see some real life example by creating some shadow. So,we now initiate some detail steps of Natural Shadow making for your clear conception


Step 1: Select object and create path outline with the pen tool. Press (ctrl+c)+(ctrl+v) to copy the object on the new layer 1.

Step 2: Create new layer by pressing the new layer icon on bottom of the layer panel

Step 3:   Put a background color on the new layer 2 as white color.

Step 4 :  Then draw a path with pen tool on exact the bottom of the area which we want to make as a shadow

Step 5:  Go to background layer and copy only path area we created before on an object as a layer 3

Step 6:  Copy path area which is (layer 3) need to move as second layer on the layer panel just under the copy object layer (layer1)

Step 7: Selecting path layer 3 & go to image > Image adjustments > Hue/Saturation

Step 8: Adjust saturation (-54) to make the shadow more darken to look natural.

Step 9: Take Eraser tool to delete the unwanted area of the shadow under the object.

Step 10:  Merge the entire layer and save JPEG format of the image now

Here we focused to create first shadow which named Natural Shadow

How To Apply Shadow Effect On An Object Background

Shadow Effect 

Shadow effect is a regular and vital work for Graphic sectors. When a image are Captured or created, then they need some necessary change to make the image better than ever. Designer has to go through a few certain processes to perform the editing. 

Natural shadow can enhance the image quality dynamically. In Photoshop Full image shadow is applied by effect of light.

Original Shadow is made by the effect of light that’s why we calling it natural shadow or original shadow.

Now we are going to demonstrate how to create shadow effect on an object.To do so , we need to apply clipping path first.If you miss the previous clipping path article, then click here...  

Step 1:  Go to object layer and press (shift+F6) to edit feather radius 1 and press backspace to adjust object path outline with the background environment.

Step 2:  Copy object layer and hide it first. Then select object copy layer and choose color from image adjustments (hue/Saturation) to apply in background.

Step 3:  Now go to copy object layer again & have to select the path and modify Hue/saturation to decrease lightness effect to 0% for making blackish level color as shadow.

Step 4: Then I need to go to filter option on the Menu bar, change Blur effect % as my shadow demands. Only because my shadow has to look simply natural,I am choosing 3.5 % for Blur radius. 

Step 5 : After applying shadow effect now make the first object layer visible and making move scaling up and down for the perfect shadow placing on the changing background.

Step 6: Then unwanted area of blackish color need to delete it all with eraser tool.

Step 7:  Moreover, if I want to make shadow of the wire then I have to follow the same process to make shadow and keep blur level (1.7).

Step 8:  I can also move the whole shadow of the wire by selecting the shadow area in any angle to look extremely original with the actual background.

Step 9: After my edit is done & final image is ready, I can save JPEG file for image version or PSD file to store all the layer records of my work.

Now you can easily do some edit on your image with applying shadow effect to create a more realistic image.It will increase your edit capability to represent a qualitative image background.
