Retouch & color adjustment of a portrait
Color adjustment is something which can be used to transform the allover color tone of the entire image. We can add or remove color on the basis of our photo requirement. Sometimes after clicking the photo, photographers can’t be satisfied with the original color of the environment. With adjustment layers, we can apply edits on a different layer in the image, leaving the original image (background layer). The simplest way to adjustment layer tools is clicking an icon in the Adjustments panel. We can add more than one layer for better adjustment and complex editing. Moreover, we can also use a mask to apply adjustments to a particular part of an image.
Here is the comparison of before after edition of color adjustment of a portrait-
Now we can start the tutorial -
Step 1: Open image as a background you want to retouch
Step 2: Move cursor to the image > adjustments > brightness contrast
Step 3: A box will appear where brightness will adjust the light of the portrait and contrast will apply the depth of the light depends on your satisfaction. Here I fix brightness 39 and contrast 75 to apply the effect so nicely
Step 4: Go to image > auto color > apply
Step 5: Same way again go image > auto contrast. This auto color and contrast can give a perfect adjustable lighting for your portrait
Step 7: In the color balance box I applied
Cyan= +42
Magenta= +11
Yellow= +4
Step 8: Now vibrancy is something you can edit if you are not still satisfied with your retouching
Go image > adjustment > vibrance
Step 9: Apply vibrance (-100) and saturation (+100) > ok
Step 10: Select quick selection tool to copy little foggy snows to apply it more areas so that it looks gloomier after finishing touch
Step 11: I select snow with quick selection and copy it by pressing ALT and drag to more places on the portrait to give it final look
Step 12: Now you can save the image as JPEG to compare the previous one
